Every Pest Management Company has different preparation requirements. You can feel confident that we will follow your Pest Management Company's instructions exactly. That being said, there are many things that can and should be done to guarantee a successful erradication. When it comes to bed bugs, we don't underestimate them. We have seen treatments fail because during the prep proccess because shortcuts are taken. We have seen bed bugs bagged up with kid's toys, laundry, shoes etc. I have personally seen picture frames that were vacuumed and shrinkwrapped yet bugs and eggs were in the cardboard backing of the picture.. Only to be released at a later date. One may read a book in bed one night and then move that book to another room the next day.. the possibilities are endless. That is why we believe that the "at risk" belongings should be heated to lethal temperatures prior to being bagged or wrapped.

Heat is a nonchemical option treatment. Excessive heat kills insects and eggs by disrupting cellular membranes and denaturing enzymes needed for their survival. It has been shown that heat will kill many types of insects such as, bed bugs, cockroaches, ants, wood boring beetles, clothing moths, carpet beetles, etc. The treatment process involves heating all wood, furniture, boxsprings, mattresses, artifacts, electronics, etc., in one of our many different sized portable thermal chambers to a minimum of 121°F (at the core) and holding this temperature. The benefit of heat treatment is the ability to treat without the use of chemicals and the relatively short period of time. Drycleaning , curtains, books, area rugs , picture frames, shoes, hats, toys, and many other items all decontaminated safely! It's portable so it doesn't required relocating your belongings.

Using one of our many portable thermal chambers, we treat your belongings where appropriate.  All of these tools are useless if not operated and monitored by an expert using monitors and thermocouples to achieve deadly core temperatures. Proper use will provide complete mortality of all bed bugs in all life stages as well as eggs. The manner in which each unit is loaded to allow for appropriate airflow is just as critical for success.

Clothes

• Treat all clothing in a hot dryer, and then fold and store everything in carefully labeled and put in resealable bags.
• Laundry is included in our rate, unlike other bed bug prep companies.

Beds and Bedding

• Strip all bedding from the beds and treat in a hot dryer.
• Treat all linens and towels in a hot dryer, and then fold and store everything in resealable bags.
• Dismantle a bed frame, if required.
• Provide mattress, box spring and pillow encasements at a discount over store prices.*
• Use dry vapor steam machine where appropriate

Rugs and Curtains

• Vacuum carpeting and baseboards with hepa bug vacuums.
• Curtains are heat treated and if required are sealed in plastic bags.

• Vacuum upholstered furniture.
• Move furniture away from walls so that baseboards can be cleaned and accessed by your Pest Control Company.
• Remove switch plates and outlet covers for further cleaning, if required by your Pest Management Company.

Organizing

• Clean out closets, drawers, and cabinets.

Belongings

• Almost all belongings are heat treated and sealed up and secured.
